Pakistan Hosts Meeting to Boost Trade and Transit with Central Asia

DID Press: Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, chaired Afghanistan–Central Asia Intergovernmental Coordination Cell (ACICC), meeting with senior officials from relevant national agencies to explore ways to strengthen Pakistan’s ties with Central Asian countries.

According to Mohammad Sadiq, participants included representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Commerce, and Communications, as well as officials from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Board of Investment (BOI), and other stakeholders.

The discussions focused on enhancing trade, transit, and investment cooperation. Attendees emphasized the importance of regional connectivity, accelerating transport and logistics projects, removing trade barriers, and establishing new platforms for joint investment.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to ongoing coordination among responsible agencies to advance economic objectives and strengthen regional links.
