Bombing of Civilian Areas in Nangarhar and Paktika; Kabul Vows Calculated Response
DID Press: Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban government, announced that Pakistani military forces carried out fresh airstrikes last night on parts of Afghan territory in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces. According to him, civilian areas were targeted in the attacks, leaving dozens of people — including women and children — dead and wounded.

Mujahid accused “certain military circles in Pakistan” of attempting to compensate for their internal security weaknesses through what he described as “aggressive actions.” He warned that the Taliban government would deliver an “appropriate and calculated response” at a suitable time.
Meanwhile, the Taliban Ministry of Defense said in a statement that, in continuation of previous incursions, the “Pakistani military regime” targeted several civilian locations in Nangarhar and Paktika, including a religious school and multiple residential homes. The ministry stated that dozens of innocent civilians were killed and injured as a result of the strikes.
The Taliban Defense Ministry described the attacks as a “clear violation of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty” and contrary to international law, principles of good neighborliness, and Islamic values. It emphasized that defending the country’s sovereignty and ensuring the security of its citizens is its legal and national responsibility.
The statement further claimed that targeting civilian and religious centers reflects “intelligence and security failures” within the Pakistani military and that such repeated actions cannot conceal that country’s internal challenges.
