DID Press: Iran’s navy has, for the first time, deployed “Sayyad-G3” air-defense missile during recent naval exercises in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Fars News Agency. The missile is presented as one of Iran’s most advanced domestically developed air-defense systems, produced as part of efforts to expand indigenous military capabilities.

Sayyad-G3 is designed to counter a broad spectrum of aerial threats. The missile is assessed to have engagement capability against high-altitude and long-range targets. Iranian sources say it can intercept and destroy fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, and some ballistic threats.
The missile’s deployment in the latest drills is framed as part of Iran’s ongoing effort to upgrade its defensive posture and showcase indigenous air-defense capacity.
