Hezbollah Strikes Israel’s Northern Front Following US-Israel Attacks on Iran

DID Press: Following coordinated US and Israeli operations targeting Iran, Lebanon’s Hezbollah has escalated its confrontation with Israel, launching a series of targeted strikes involving rockets, drones, and attacks on military bases. These actions have sharply intensified tensions along Israel’s northern border.

Hezbollah announced early Monday that a rocket and drone strike on a military base in Haifa was conducted in response to the assassination of Ayatullah Sayed Ali Khamenei. The group framed the attacks as both “defense of Lebanon and its people” and a “response to repeated Israeli aggressions.”

In retaliation, Israel conducted extensive airstrikes over southern Beirut, reportedly killing over 30 people and escalating tensions to the highest level since the last ceasefire.

Hezbollah’s campaign combines rocket fire, suicide drones, and precision strikes targeting not only border areas but also locations deep within Israel. The developments signal a new phase of heightened political and security stakes for Lebanon, with authorities warning that foreign actors could attempt to draw Lebanon into a wider regional conflict.

The recent escalation underscores Hezbollah’s active role in the “resistance axis” following U.S. and Israeli actions against Iran, marking a potentially transformative moment for regional dynamics.
