Iran’s President Stresses “Strong Defense” in Call with Putin

DID Press: Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the latest regional developments in a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, focusing on what Tehran described as “aggressive actions” by the United States and Israel against Iran.

During the call, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran has never intended and will never intend to attack its neighbors, emphasizing that Tehran’s approach is based on “strong defense of territorial integrity and the pursuit of lasting peace.”

Referring to diplomatic consultations with regional countries, he said Iran’s targeting of U.S. military bases was purely defensive and aimed at protecting the country and its people. He added that the recent U.S. and Israeli actions demonstrate that regional security should be ensured by regional states themselves, arguing that the presence of foreign forces has been a major source of instability.
