DID Press: Overnight clashes between Iran, US and Israel have entered a new phase, with intensified attacks and broader retaliatory operations reported across the region.

The escalation comes shortly after the announcement that Ayatollah Sayed Mojtaba Khamenei has been selected as the new Supreme Leader of Iran following the reported martyrdom of Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei. Iranian authorities said the transition demonstrates political stability and internal cohesion during wartime.
Regional sources reported that Iranian missile and drone strikes targeted U.S. military installations in the Middle East, including what was described as the largest American base in the region located in Qatar. Officials in Qatar said no casualties had been reported.
In the Persian Gulf region, the conflict also spread to nearby states. The Bapco Refinery in Bahrain was reportedly hit by a drone strike, triggering a large fire. Regional media described the incident as one of the most significant strikes of the conflict so far.
Authorities in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia also reported intercepting incoming drones and missiles.
International media outlets say Iran appears to have entered a “new phase of the war,” with military responses expected to involve multi-layered and region-wide operations.
Domestically, Iranian state institutions and military organizations issued statements pledging allegiance to the country’s new leadership, moves analysts say signal continued unity within Iran’s political and defense structures despite the intensifying conflict.
The confrontation is also reverberating through global markets. Oil prices have surged past $100 per barrel, reflecting concerns that the widening conflict could disrupt energy supplies from the Middle East.
