Taliban Hail Iran’s New Leader as Symbol of Resistance to Foreign Pressure
DID Press: Taliban officials in Herat welcomed the appointment of Ayatollah Sayed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei as the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing it as a sign of Iranian resilience against external pressure and foreign aggression.

Rahmatullah Faizaan, deputy representative of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Herat, called the selection “promising” in a message posted on X (formerly Twitter).
He emphasized that a change in leadership does not end a nation’s will, asserting that Iran’s resolve against foreign interference remains “as steadfast as Mount Damavand.”
Faizaan added that even if Ali Khamenei were to step down and be succeeded by someone like Mojtaba Hosseini, the core truth of national resistance would remain unchanged.
