Russia: Israeli Airstrike Hit Russian Cultural Center in Lebanon

DID Press: Yevgeny Primakov, head of Russia’s federal agency for international humanitarian cooperation, said that the Israeli Air Force struck a Russian cultural center known as “Russian House” in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh.

Primakov said Tuesday that Israeli warplanes bombed the facility, which operates as a partner in Russian cultural programs in Lebanon.

According to the official, Asaad Dia, the head of the center, survived the attack and is currently safe.

Primakov emphasized that the cultural center was not involved in any military activities and said the strike occurred “without prior provocation.”

He added that Rossotrudnichestvo — Russia’s federal agency responsible for humanitarian and cultural cooperation abroad — would issue a formal statement in the coming hours regarding the incident.

No further details have been released about possible casualties or the extent of damage. Authorities in Israel have not yet issued an official response to the report.
