DID Press: North Korea has officially expressed support for the appointment of Ayatullah Sayed Mojtaba Khamenei as the new leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Pyongyang also condemned recent military actions by the United States and Israel targeting Iran, calling them threats to regional peace and security.

According to state media, a spokesperson for North Korea Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the North Korean government respects Iran’s decision through its Assembly of Experts and considers it an exercise of Iranian sovereignty. The official emphasized that the ongoing U.S. and Israeli operations could exacerbate instability and heighten tensions both regionally and globally.
The statement also highlighted that the current regional situation requires restraint and political solutions, urging the international community to actively work toward preventing further escalation.
