Taliban Seizes Assets of Mohammad Mohaqiq, Shuts Down “Rah-e-Farda” TV

DID Press: Mohammad Mohaqiq, leader of the Islamic Unity Party of the People of Afghanistan, reported that the Taliban have confiscated his personal properties in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif and have suspended operations of his television channel, Rah-e-Farda.

Mohaqiq stated that his home and assets in Mazar-e-Sharif had previously been seized, and now the Taliban have also taken control of his residence in Kabul and the media outlet. He linked the actions to his recent critical remarks about the Taliban’s handling of border clashes with Pakistan, accusing the group of enabling militant activity that exposed Afghanistan to cross-border attacks.

However, Mohaqiq emphasized that the seizure of his TV station and property is unrelated to his political statements and described it as part of the Taliban’s “targeted policy to weaken the Shia and Hazara communities.” He added that under Taliban rule, these communities continue to face psychological pressure, threats, and repeated extortion.
