Peace Possible Only With Guarantees and War Reparations, Says Iran

DID Press: Masoud Pezeshkian, president of Iran, has said that ending the ongoing regional conflict will only be possible if Iran’s legitimate rights are recognized, damages caused by the war are compensated, and firm international guarantees are provided to prevent future attacks.

In a message posted on the social media platform X (social network), Pezeshkian said he had reiterated Iran’s commitment to peace and regional stability during discussions with the leaders of Russia and Pakistan.

He stated that the only path to ending the current war — which he said was initiated by the United States and Israel — requires several fundamental conditions to be met. According to the Iranian president, the first step is the international recognition of Iran’s legitimate rights.

Pezeshkian also stressed that compensation for the damage inflicted on Iran must be included as a key requirement for ending the conflict.

In addition, he said the international community must provide strong and practical guarantees to prevent any future aggression.

The remarks come as tensions in the region have escalated following recent military confrontations, while diplomatic efforts by several countries continue in an attempt to reduce tensions and return to dialogue.

Analysts say consultations between Tehran, Moscow, and Islamabad may form part of broader diplomatic efforts aimed at managing the crisis and preventing the conflict from expanding further.
