Poll: Miscalculations, Not Battlefield, Hinder US-Israel in Iran Conflict

DID Press: A recent survey by DID News Agency reveals that the public perceives strategic miscalculations as the primary obstacle for the US and Israel in their conflict with Iran.

According to the survey, 52% of respondents believe that underestimating Iran’s capabilities and reactions has been the main factor behind Washington and Tel Aviv’s setbacks.

Internal cohesion in Iran ranked second with 29%, seen as a critical factor in enhancing Tehran’s resilience and response capacity. Iran’s defensive and deterrent capabilities were cited by 19% of respondents as the third major barrier for the U.S. and Israel.

Interestingly, regional support for Iran was considered negligible, receiving 0% of the vote, suggesting that the public views internal and strategic factors as far more decisive than external backing.

Overall, the survey underscores that the key challenge for the U.S. and Israel lies in flawed strategic calculations rather than battlefield performance, a factor likely to shape future decisions in the ongoing conflict.
