4 Civilians Killed in Overnight Airstrike in Kabul, Says UN

DID Press: UNAMA (United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan) has reported that at least four civilians were killed and 14 others wounded following overnight airstrikes in the Pul-e-Charkhi area of Kabul.

According to the UN mission, women and children were among the casualties. Human rights teams from the organization are currently investigating the incident to gather further details about the attack and its impact on civilians.

In its statement, UNAMA stressed that protecting civilians during military operations is a fundamental obligation under international humanitarian law. The mission called on all parties involved in the conflict to avoid using weapons or tactics that increase the risk to civilians.

Local sources told media outlets that the strikes occurred late at night and damaged several residential homes near the targeted location. Images circulating on social media appear to show damaged buildings and families fleeing their homes in darkness.

Local authorities have not yet provided an official explanation regarding the nature of the operation or its intended targets. Human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that continued airstrikes without transparency and accountability could lead to higher civilian casualties and severe humanitarian consequences in urban areas.
