Pakistan: Military Operations in Afghanistan Only Temporarily Suspended

DID Press: Pakistani officials have announced that the country’s military operations inside Afghanistan have not fully ended but have been temporarily halted.

Talal Chaudhry stated that the suspension was implemented in observance of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday and does not signal the conclusion of military actions.

He described the pause as a short-term measure, adding that operations could resume if necessary. The official also claimed that certain militant activities inside Pakistan are being organized from Afghan territory.

Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan will continue taking what it considers necessary steps to address security threats.

The remarks come amid rising tensions along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border in recent months, with repeated reports of cross-border incursions and retaliatory attacks from both sides.

Political analysts warn that continued escalation could negatively affect bilateral relations and regional stability, stressing the importance of dialogue and cooperation to reduce tensions.
