US Forces in Iraq Targeted by Rocket and Drone Attacks Near Baghdad Airport

DID Press: Security sources in Iraq reported that US diplomatic and logistical facilities at Baghdad International Airport were struck by multiple rocket and drone attacks overnight.

According to Iraqi officials, the assaults continued into the early morning hours, prompting the temporary evacuation of some American personnel from the targeted compound. At least six confirmed strikes were recorded, and Iraqi police reportedly discovered a rocket launcher near the airport perimeter.

Armed factions aligned with Iran claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating that more than 20 similar operations had been carried out against U.S. positions across Iraq within the previous 24 hours. The incidents highlight escalating security tensions surrounding the continued presence of American forces in the country.

Coalitions identifying themselves as the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” reiterated calls for the withdrawal of U.S. troops and an end to foreign military involvement in the region.
