DID Press: HuffPost has reported rising frustration, stress, and mistrust among US service members as the conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran enters its fourth week, following orders by President Donald Trump to deploy thousands of naval personnel and Marines to the Middle East.

According to interviews with active-duty troops, reservists, and military support groups, some personnel involved in the conflict described feelings of vulnerability, intense psychological pressure, discouragement, and disillusionment—conditions that could potentially lead to resignations or early departures from service. Many spoke anonymously due to fear of professional repercussions or lack of authorization to comment publicly.
A military official working at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, which treats evacuated personnel from the Middle East, stated that troops are facing challenges such as insufficient protection and inadequate operational planning. The official noted that repeated ballistic missile and drone attacks on U.S. bases have had destabilizing psychological effects on deployed forces.
The same source warned that any large-scale ground operation could result in what was described as “a complete disaster,” emphasizing that defending even a single ground base in the region remains difficult under current threat conditions.
Meanwhile, a military veteran and reservist in contact with younger officers reported an unprecedented decline in trust among service members. According to the source, some soldiers have expressed reluctance to participate in operations perceived as politically driven, with statements reflecting growing dissatisfaction within segments of the U.S. military ranks.
