US Official: Patriot System Unable to Intercept Iranian Missiles

DID Press: A US official reported that Iran used missiles in an attack on Qatar gas facilities that evaded the advanced Patriot air defense system.

According to Financial Times, the missiles were highly maneuverable, allowing them to bypass the Patriot system during strikes on the Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas and gas processing facilities on March 18–19.

Iranian authorities had previously warned that in response to U.S.-Israeli attacks on the South Pars gas field, they would target energy infrastructure in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
