Taliban Boosts Beekeeping Industry, Creating Thousands of Jobs
DID Press: Officials from the Taliban’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock announced that new programs in beekeeping have generated employment opportunities for thousands across various provinces of Afghanistan. According to the ministry, the country’s diverse climates and natural resources allow for the annual production of thousands of metric tons of honey.

Beekeeping is considered a low-cost and profitable activity in rural areas. Experts, however, stress that the success of this initiative depends on sustained support, access to domestic and international markets, and transparency in distributing employment opportunities. They note that, amid widespread unemployment, detailed information on how these commitments will be implemented is essential.
