Hezbollah Rebuilds in Shadows with New Decentralized Command Model

DID Press: Sources familiar with the matter told Middle East Eye that Hezbollah has quietly restructured its command system following heavy blows in 2024, shifting to a more flexible and semi-autonomous model. The approach, referred to as the “Mughniyeh Model,” relies on smaller, dispersed, and largely independent units, making intelligence penetration into the group’s operational network significantly more difficult.

According to these sources, the ceasefire period provided Hezbollah with a “golden window” to rebuild. During this time, the transfer of equipment, restoration of weapons depots, and reconstruction of combat capabilities accelerated, enabling the group to recover a substantial portion of its lost capacity.

Recent drone and missile strikes targeting cities such as Ashkelon suggest that assumptions by some actors about the group’s “complete destruction” were premature. The attacks indicate Hezbollah has managed to restore a significant share of its operational strength despite sustained military pressure.
