DID Press: At the conclusion of a two-day gathering of Afghan Taliban opponents in London, political leaders and representatives from various factions issued a joint statement emphasizing that Afghanistan’s future governance must be based on the will of the people and framed within a modern constitution.

The statement stressed broad public participation, protection of national independence and territorial integrity, rule of law, respect for ethnic and social diversity, strengthening local governance, and promoting religious moderation.

Organized by the group Women for Afghanistan, the summit aimed to foster cohesion among Taliban opponents and develop a shared framework to address Afghanistan’s ongoing crisis. Participants also called for continued meetings to achieve practical solutions grounded in national consensus.
