Iran Outlines 5 “Golden Conditions” for Lasting Peace Over Temporary Truce

DID Press: Iran has presented five core conditions it says are essential for achieving sustainable peace in the region, framing a strategy that moves beyond short-term ceasefires. According to senior Iranian political and security officials, these conditions aim to ensure that regional stability cannot be achieved without constructive engagement and respect for the rights of nations and the resistance axis.

The five conditions, highlighted by Iranian state media including Press TV, include:

  1. Complete cessation of aggression and killings — going beyond a temporary ceasefire to address the roots of violence.
  2. Mechanisms to prevent the return of war — structural guarantees drawn from years of conflict and broken agreements.
  3. Transparent and guaranteed war reparations — ensuring legal and compensatory measures for damages often overlooked in regional crises.
  4. End of war across all fronts for all resistance groups — emphasizing a comprehensive, multi-front approach to peace.
  5. Recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz with international guarantees — linking strategic regional security with diplomatic safeguards.

Iran contrasts its approach with the U.S. 15-point proposal, which Tehran describes as a “list of unfinished wishes” aimed at temporary stabilization rather than structural change.

Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, reinforced this position, stating, “Your strategic power has failed. Do not call their defeat an agreement. The era of empty promises is over.” This statement illustrates the alignment of Iran’s diplomatic messaging with its strategic military posture, signaling both a commitment to peace and a warning to adversaries.

Analysts say the five conditions reflect Tehran’s approach to integrating field realities with diplomacy, aiming to create a framework for lasting stability rooted in justice and regional cooperation.
