Global Media Condemns Israeli Violence Against CNN Crew in West Bank
DID Press: Foreign Press Association (FPA) has strongly condemned the actions of Israeli forces against a CNN news team, calling the incident a “violent attack.”

According to the FPA, the CNN crew was covering the aftermath of attacks by Israeli settlers and the establishment of an illegal outpost near the Palestinian village of Tayaseer when they were stopped and detained by the Israeli military on Thursday.
The association reported that soldiers “aggressively” targeted both journalists and Palestinian civilians at the scene, aiming weapons at them even after the reporters clearly identified themselves. Forces repeatedly tried to halt filming and threatened to confiscate media equipment.
One soldier reportedly approached CNN photographer Cyril Theophilus from behind, forced him to the ground in a chokehold, and damaged his camera. CNN has confirmed these details in its report.
The FPA emphasized that “this was not a misunderstanding, but a violent attack on clearly identified journalists, constituting a direct violation of press freedom.”
The report comes amid broader concerns over press safety: Israel recently detained three journalists in southern Lebanon, and hundreds of reporters have been killed since the conflict began.
