DID Press: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, announced that talks between Iran and the United States could be held in Islamabad in the coming days.

Dar said, “Pakistan is honored to host and facilitate meaningful dialogue between the two sides to achieve a comprehensive and lasting solution to the ongoing conflict.” He added that Pakistan welcomes the trust both Iran and the US have placed in its ability to mediate these negotiations.
The foreign minister also noted that China fully supports Pakistan’s initiative to host the talks, and the UN Secretary-General has expressed full backing for this peace-oriented effort.
Dar explained that on Sunday, consultations were held with senior diplomats from Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia to discuss “ways to reach a swift and permanent end to the regional war.” He added, “Foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia agreed that this war benefits no one and will only result in death and destruction.”
This announcement comes as the United States and Israel initiated an open military campaign against Iran on February 28, in what is widely regarded as a violation of international law.
