Four New Health Centers Opened in Khost with Afghanistan Trust Fund Support

DID Press: Four health centers in the districts of Mandolzi, Tani, Zazi Maidan, and Sabri in Khost province have been inaugurated with financial backing from the Afghanistan Trust Fund.

The centers, built at a total cost of 27 million Afghanis, are now operational and aimed at providing standardized medical services to local communities.

Akhtar Muhammad Akram, head of public health in Khost, described the construction of these facilities as an important step toward addressing the healthcare needs of the region and emphasized that the centers would provide quality health services.

These centers focus on maternal and child care, each capable of serving at least 500 families with medical and health services.

The World Health Organization reported last year that, following the suspension of U.S. foreign aid, at least 420 health facilities across Afghanistan had closed, affecting more than three million people in 30 provinces.

The opening of these new centers aims to help mitigate the healthcare gaps faced by the population.
