Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce Pushes to Break Trade Barriers

DID Press: Sayed Karim Hashemi, head of Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment, met with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban government’s Foreign Minister, to demand solutions to problems and removal of obstacles facing Afghan traders and investors.

The Chamber’s Facebook page reported that during the meeting, Hashemi presented the key concerns of traders and investors, emphasizing the need for greater cooperation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate Afghan business operations abroad.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening and expanding economic ties with regional and global partners to foster trade and investment growth in Afghanistan.

In response, Amir Khan Muttaqi pledged that the Ministry, in coordination with relevant institutions, would take the necessary measures to resolve issues facing Afghan traders overseas and improve the country’s trade environment.
