Pakistan and Afghanistan Agree on Security Measures at Torkham Border
DID Press: Following recent tensions at the Torkham border, Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached an agreement to deploy unarmed personnel along the zero line and manage the transfer of expelled individuals.

In the first bilateral border meeting after the clashes, both sides agreed on security arrangements. Under the accord, unarmed forces will be stationed along the zero line, and the transfer of expelled persons will follow specific scheduled hours.
Freight truck movement will continue around the clock, with inspections carried out by border forces from both countries. The agreement also emphasizes joint efforts to combat smuggling.
Despite ongoing disagreements over the delineation of responsibilities, a follow-up meeting is planned to continue negotiations and address remaining issues.
This agreement represents a significant step toward reducing tensions and enhancing security cooperation at the Torkham border.
