DID Press: Experts say that US war against Islamic Republic of Iran is costing up to $2 billion per day. Stephanie Savell, senior researcher and director of the “Cost of War” project at Brown University, stated that the total costs of arms, damage to U.S. assets, and related expenses have already imposed billions of dollars on taxpayers.

The U.S. Department of Defense has reported to Congress that the first six days of the war alone cost $11.3 billion. Linda Bilmes estimated that the actual daily cost of the conflict is likely around $2 billion.
Savell warned that these expenses are directly borne by U.S. citizens and have so far contributed to rising gas prices and growing economic concerns. The White House has requested an additional $200 billion budget to continue military operations.
Beyond the financial burden, critics argue that U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran have not only worsened regional instability but also caused widespread humanitarian and economic impacts. They contend that continuing a militaristic approach without a clear political strategy will only increase costs, deepen insecurity, and intensify the crisis—burdens ultimately borne by local populations and American taxpayers.
