UK Reaffirms Commitment to Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan
DID Press: Head of Afghan Red Crescent emphasized continued aid to displaced persons and those in need during a discussion with the UK’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, In response to rising challenges caused by recent heavy rains.

Sheikh Shahabuddin Dilawar, Director General of the Afghan Red Crescent, spoke in an online meeting with Richard Lindsey, the UK Special Representative for Afghanistan, about the situation of internally displaced families and those affected by recent floods.
During the meeting, Dilawar highlighted the growing humanitarian needs across various regions and stressed that the Afghan Red Crescent strives to deliver humanitarian assistance in a regular, transparent, and timely manner to those most deserving.
The aid includes the distribution of food supplies, primary healthcare services, and support for orphaned families and returnees.
Dilawar also noted that ongoing natural and economic crises have placed immense pressure on vulnerable families, underscoring the need for increased international cooperation and support.
Meanwhile, Richard Lindsey praised the Afghan Red Crescent’s efforts and reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to maintaining and expanding humanitarian assistance. He assured that Britain will continue standing with the people of Afghanistan and work to ensure aid reaches those who need it most.
Both parties concluded the meeting by emphasizing strengthened coordination to improve aid delivery and better address the needs of internally displaced persons and victims of natural disasters.
