Karzai Urges UN to Condemn Pakistan’s Attacks on Afghanistan

DID Press: Hamid Karzai, in a letter to António Guterres, described Pakistan’s recent attacks on Afghan territory as a clear violation of international rules and contrary to the principles and objectives of the United Nations.

The letter stated that the attacks resulted in human casualties and caused significant damage to Afghanistan’s national infrastructure. Karzai called on the United Nations to formally condemn these actions.

The former president also referred to Pakistan’s decades-long policy, emphasizing that the country has used militancy and extremism for more than forty years as tools to expand its regional influence.

He urged the UN Secretary-General to use his “good offices” to prevent the recurrence of such attacks and violations of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to help reduce tensions and break the cycle of violence in the region.
