US $200M Drone Disappears Over Strait of Hormuz

DID Press: Forbes reported that a high-value unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the United States Navy, an MQ-4C Triton surveillance drone, disappeared after declaring an emergency over the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the report, the drone transmitted emergency code 7700 while flying at an altitude of around 52,000 feet. It then suddenly began a rapid descent.

Forbes added that the signal was completely lost once the aircraft dropped below 10,000 feet, and its current status remains unknown.

The magazine further noted that the loss of even a single MQ-4C Triton aircraft could represent a financial damage exceeding $200 million for the United States.
