Taliban Official Issues Strong Warning to Pakistan Over Border Tensions

DID Press: Noorullah Noori warned Pakistan that continued tensions could lead the country to face a fate similar to that of past foreign powers in Afghanistan.

Noori, who serves as the Minister of Borders, Ethnicities and Tribes Affairs in the Taliban administration, criticized Islamabad’s policies, saying that if border disputes and confrontations continue, Pakistan may encounter consequences comparable to those experienced by the Soviet Union and the United States in Afghanistan.

Accusing Pakistan of acting on behalf of external powers, he stated that just as resistance was mounted against American and Russian forces, any similar pressure would be met with a response.

Noori also reiterated that the Taliban do not accept any imposed border, referring to the Durand Line as unacceptable and rejecting its legitimacy.
