DID Press: League of Arab States Ambassador to Russia, Walid Hamid Shaltagh, said that Arab countries’ interest in the BRICS group has significantly increased, as the bloc is based on “true international law, respect for national sovereignty, and rejection of coercion or dominance.”

He stated that following the recent U.S. military actions against Iran, Washington failed to guarantee the security of Gulf Arab states, making BRICS an increasingly attractive and practical alternative to the region’s traditional reliance on the United States.
The BRICS group currently includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. With the accession of new members such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt, it is evolving into one of the most significant emerging blocs in the global order.
