Easter Ceasefire Between Russia and Ukraine Begins This Afternoon

DID Press: The Russian government has announced a temporary suspension of all military operations in observance of Easter.

The ceasefire will begin at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time (13:00 GMT) on Saturday (April 11) and will remain in effect until the end of Sunday.

According to the Kremlin press service, the decision was made under orders from the President of Russia. Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine stated that his country is prepared to reciprocate and observe the ceasefire.

Under the directive, Russian forces have been instructed to halt all military activity across operational fronts, while maintaining full readiness to respond to any potential hostile actions.

This is not the first such initiative; in 2025, Russia also announced a similar Easter ceasefire in its “special military operation” zone, which lasted for three days.
