Billions of Afghanis Allocated to Support Vulnerable Families Across Afghanistan

DID Press: Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced that more than 3.3 billion Afghanis were distributed in (2025–2026) to support over 522,000 returnee and internally displaced families across Afghanistan.

According to the ministry, a total of over 3 billion and 354 million Afghanis in assistance was allocated and delivered to 522,054 families in various parts of the country during the year.

The aid targeted returning migrants, internally displaced persons, as well as host community families affected by economic hardship and instability.

Officials stated that the assistance was provided in the form of cash payments, food supplies, and non-food relief items, with the aim of addressing the urgent needs of vulnerable households.

They emphasized that many of these families face serious economic challenges after returning to the country or due to displacement, including limited access to basic services and a lack of employment opportunities.

Authorities added that the support has played a significant role in reducing poverty, meeting essential needs, and preventing further deterioration of living conditions among affected populations.

According to the ministry, coordination with domestic institutions and international organizations has been a key factor in identifying vulnerable groups and delivering assistance effectively.

The ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing relief efforts and called on humanitarian agencies to expand cooperation and increase support for returnees and displaced persons.
