Shia Ulema Council of Afghanistan Calls for Public Trial of Perpetrators of Injil Attack
DID Press: Shia Ulema Council of Afghanistan has issued a statement strongly condemning the armed attack against civilians in the Injil district of Herat Province, calling for the perpetrators to be publicly prosecuted.

The council cited a verse from the Holy Quran and described the incident as part of what it called “systematic killings” of Shia communities in Afghanistan. It stated that on Friday, April 10, armed attackers shot a large number of civilians—including women, children, and elderly people—resulting in multiple deaths and injuries.
Expressing deep sorrow and condolences to the families of the victims, the council urged authorities to identify those responsible and bring them to justice through a public trial. It stressed that previous failures to publicly identify and prosecute perpetrators have contributed to the continuation of such attacks.
The statement further called on the ruling authorities to ensure the security of citizens and take effective measures to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents.
