Aga Khan Reportedly Funded Islamabad Summit Costs, Pakistani Sources Claim

DID Press: Pakistani sources have reported that the cost of hosting the recent summit in Islamabad, held at the Serena Hotel Islamabad, was financed by Karim Aga Khan.

Several media outlets in Pakistan stated that the expenses for organizing the recent meeting were not covered by the government of Pakistan.

According to these reports, the cost of the summit—estimated at approximately $1 million—was paid by Aga Khan IV, leader of the Ismaili community and a prominent figure in investment and the hospitality industry.

It is said that he provided the funds as a “gift” to the Pakistani government.

The Serena Hotel, which hosted the negotiations between Iran and the United States, is part of the development network affiliated with the Aga Khan and has previously served as a venue for diplomatic and official regional events.

However, no official representatives of the Pakistani government or the organizing institutions have yet issued a formal response or confirmation regarding this claim.

The absence of official clarification has fueled speculation about the financial aspects and behind-the-scenes arrangements of the summit.
