30 people were released from Taliban’s prison on Tuesday in eastern Laghman province, local security officials confirmed.
“The people released from Taliban prison by the Afghan security forces, are all civilian,” Nabijan Mullah Khel, Laghman police chief told DID news agency.
The provincial security officials said they have launched an operation to destroy Taliban in Alinegar district.

On the other hand, Taliban’s spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid rejected the claim, saying the international and Afghan forces were defeated in this area.
It is worth mentioning that Taliban has a widespread presence in eastern Laghman province.
