The Pakistani army chief Gen. Qamar Bajwa arrived in Kabul to attend chief of defense conference on Tuesday.
The United States Central Command commander Joseph Votel, Commander Resolute Support Mission John Nicholson and Afghan Army Chief Mohammad Sharif Yaftali are also attending the “chief of defense” summit.
The senior military officers will discuss mutual security challenges, improve mutual relationships and foster security cooperation.
It is noteworthy that Pakistani army chiefs had previously visited Afghan officials, but these trips have not had concrete results to improve the security situation in the country.
This comes as relations between America and Pakistan blurred and the Afghan government has recently called on Islamabad to destroy terror organizations in its territory.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are also interested in cooperating with the Afghan government to fight terrorism.
