“85 percent of women are being sexually harassed at the workplace,” said Qadria Yazdan Parast, a member of the AHRC. Adding that “A survey conducted by the HRC through interviews with women indicates that of 1530 women, 1307 women, have been sexually harassed at work, accounting for 85.4% of all interviewees”.
“The women who rejected their sexual harassment have certainly refused to tell the truth,” Ms. Yazdan Parast added.

According to her, women and girls avoid going to educational places or to work outside the home and many of them fear to work with men.

Meanwhile, the head of the women’s affairs committee of the parliament Fawzia Kofi said at the meeting that harassment at workplace forced women not to participate in governance.

The law prohibiting the harassment of women and children was verified three years ago by the National Assembly, and one year later, it was signed by president Ghani.
