9 people were killed including the family members of Afghanistan senate chairman and 8 more injured during an operation carried out by the country’s security forces in eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday 29 may.
The provincial press office said these people were killed or wounded during an operation launched by the security forces in “Dawlatzai” area of Chaparhar district.
According to reports, the press office confirmed the death of some members of the Senate chairman Fazal Hadi Muslimyar.
A delegation was formed by the central government to investigate the incident.
The governor of Nangarhar province expressed sympathy with the Senate chairman and appreciated his patience for clarifying the issue.
Mr Muslimyar has not yet commented on the issue. But Zabihullah Mujahid, who is considered the Taliban’s spokesperson said 9 people including commander Zoorawar Khan were killed and 8 more injured during the Afghan and foreign operation on Monday. According to the spokesperson, all of the victims are relatives of the Senate chairman Fazal Hadi Mulimyar.
