The chief executive of Jamiat-e Islami party Ata M. Noor took stance about the list of 250-member delegation announced for Qatar meeting, stressing that he will not attend the meeting with this composition.
In an announcement, Mr Noor considered the 250-member delegation as ordered government list and emphasized that this list cannot represent the community.
“The list ignores social balance and the presence of the jihad and resistance faction, as an important side,” Ata M. Noor asserted.
The full statement of the announcement:
“We dismiss the government’s published list of attendees for the upcoming Qatar meeting. The list includes government’s favoured candidates, government officials and those with no base. The list ignores social balance and the presence of the jihad and resistance faction, as an important side.
As we dismiss the government’s list designed in a narrow-minded manner, we won’t be attending the talks with this running order. We see this as government’s intentional act to sabotage the peace efforts, also seen in
Government’s formation of the reconciliation council, later dissolved.
We also continue our efforts to achieve peace in the country while supporting the peace process, Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad’s efforts, and the international community in bringing peace.
We thank the government for enlisting our colleagues for the talks, they can now fill the empty columns with their favoured ones.”
