A number of the final winning candidates of the parliamentary elections in Kabul urges the government to open the new parliament as soon as possible, stressing that the parliamentary election results for the remaining provinces should be announced.

A resolution published by the candidates says that the parliament as “a manifestation of the will of the people and one of the three powers of the Afghan government”, must start its work in order to respect the will of the citizens of the country.
Pointing to the peace process, holding Loya Jirga and the presidential elections, the candidates emphasized that the existence of the parliament is necessary as the representative of the people.

According to them, in the absence of the parliament, any decision regarding major national processes like the war and peace will have no legitimacy.
The resolution also calls on the electoral commissions to announce the result of the parliamentary elections for Kabul, Kochi zone, and other remaining provinces.
The candidates asked the electoral observatory institutions to help the electoral commissions in announcing the parliamentary election results.

The independent election commission has been able to announce the final results for 27 provinces of Afghanistan as well as the Sikhs constituency so far.
The final parliament results of 6 provinces, including Kochi constituency has not been announced yet.
