Tariq Arian, a spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said Saturday that a number of people in Ghor gathered in front of the Ghor governor’s office to speed up the process of providing assistance to poor families and to receive timely aid during quarantine days.
“Two policemen were killed and 10 others were wounded after a number of irresponsible armed men, who were among Ghor protestors opened fire on the security forces,” Tariq Arian said. Adding that “4 protesters were killed and 9 others were wounded.”
Amnesty International, meanwhile, said the Afghan authorities must immediately order an independent and effective investigation into use of unnecessary and excessive force that led to the killing of four civilians, including a local journalist, and the injury of others outside Governor’s office in Ghor province.
According to Tariq Arian, the leadership of the ministry of interior assures the honorable people of Ghor that a fact-finding delegation will leave Kabul for a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
