Taliban official among Kabul Hospital Attack Fatalities/ IS-K Claims Responsibility

IS-K terrorist group has claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s deadly attack on Sardar Daud Khan’s 400-bed military hospital.

A statement in Arabic posted on the terror group’s propaganda site Amaq claimed more than 40 people were killed or injured during the bomb and gun attack on the Afghanistan hospital.

However, Taliban’s deputy information minister Zabihullah Mujahid said 7 people – 3 women, a child, and 3 Taliban personnel – were killed and five others were wounded.
5 IS-K terrorists were shot dead at the hospital’s gate and in the courtyard, before they could enter the facility, he added.

According to reports, Hamdullah Mukhlis, a senior Taliban commander who headed an army corps in Kabul, was also among the fatalities.
Mukhlis became a known face in Afghanistan during the Taliban’s rise to power in August, as he was the first Taliban commander to enter the presidential palace after ex-President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.
It is worth mentioning that after the bloody attacks on Shia Mosques in Kandahar and Kunduz provinces during the past three months, IS-K claimed the responsibility for deadly attack on a hospital in Kabul.
