Chaman border to remain closed: Sartaj Aziz

Sartaj Aziz, foreign affairs adviser to Pakistan’s Prime Minister says that as long as we do not reach a definitive agreement with Afghanistan, Chaman border will be closed.
Foreign affairs adviser to Pakistani Prime minister in a visit with Mr. Omar Zakhilwal, Afghan ambassador in Islamabad said: “as long as we do not reach a definitive agreement on border management, Chaman crossing will be closed,” Quoted from foreign media.
Meanwhile, Pakistani newspaper (the Daily express) wrote: at this long meeting, he informed Zakhilwal from Islamabad’s considerations about the behavior of Kabul government.

“Afghan department state should have expressed their dissatisfaction to Pakistani authorities, but border forces of that country have targeted innocent frontier residents,” Pakistani Prime Minister’s adviser stressed.
“Now, as long as Afghan government does not obviate Pakistan’s concerns and does not pay attention to our considerations, Chaman border will be closed,” Aziz added.
The senior Pakistani diplomat said that we do not intend to attack Afghanistan, but we are able to respond Afghan border forces well and defend ourselves.

On the other hand, Omar Zakhilwal, Afghan ambassador to Pakistan said at the meeting: “only two Afghan soldiers were killed in Chaman border clashes, and the claim that 50 soldiers were killed is false.
“A number of Pakistan’s border forces were killed in Chaman conflicts, but this issue never makes us happy and Kabul condemns such events.
It is worth mentioning that earlier this week, border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan security forces, left dozens killed and wounded.
