Reopening Girls’ Schools, Universities under Review, says Caretaker Government
DID Press: Caretaker government’s spokesperson announced that the process of reopening schools and universities to girls is under review.

Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the caretaker government, told some media outlets regarding the fate of girls’ education that work on this issue is still ongoin in order to obtain a precise and religiously appropriate authorization.
“The modesty of our sisters is very important to us, and their movement is also significant. From a religious standpoint, a clear and convincing approval from the scholars must be provided so that we can take steps in this direction,” he added.
Girls access to secondary and higher education has been suspended following the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan.
Despite internal and international pressure, no specific date has yet been announced for the reopening schools and universities for girls above sixth grade.
