Second Phase of Qosh Tapa Canal to Be Completed Within Five Months

DID Press: Taliban caretaker government announced the second phase of the Qosh Tapa Canal, one of the country’s key agricultural projects, will be operational within the next five months. The project is being implemented as part of efforts to expand national economic infrastructure.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban government, said authorities remain committed to advancing major national economic projects, including the Qosh Tapa Canal. He underlined the first phase of the project was completed last year and work on the second phase is currently underway.

“The second phase of the Qosh Tapa Canal will be ready for use within five months, with work nearing completion at the final section of the project,” Mujahid said.

Officials emphasize the canal plays a crucial role in boosting agriculture and providing irrigation to surrounding areas. Upon completion of the second phase, the project is expected to significantly expand irrigation capacity for farmland in the region.
