Taliban Envoy Urges Qatar to Address Afghanistani Children’s Education
DID Press: Mohammad Suhail Shaheen, Taliban caretaker government’s envoy to Qatar, met with Hamad Al-Maliki, senior official at Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education, to discuss urgent measures for Afghanistani children residing in Doha.

The meeting focused on educational challenges faced by children of Afghanistani families living in Qatar, who are often unable to attend schools due to administrative and residency barriers.
Shaheen stressed that the education of Afghanistani children requires immediate attention. In response, Al-Maliki reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to addressing the issue, promising to facilitate enrollment of Afghanistani children in schools and to coordinate with relevant authorities to resolve the barriers.
The meeting comes amid a significant influx of Afghanistani families to Qatar following recent political developments as many children face obstacles to accessing formal education.
