Pakistan Conducts Operations against TTP Militants Allegedly Linked to India

DID Press: Following three major security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan Army announced it had killed 19 members of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) described as “linked to India.”

According to the army’s public relations office, the operations took place on September 9 and 10 in areas surrounding Peshawar, Mohmand, and Karak. Three Pakistani security personnel were also killed during the clashes. The army said that these operations are part of a broader campaign to eliminate terrorist elements from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistani security officials claim that more than 8,000 TTP members have entered Pakistan from Afghanistan, hiding among civilian populations in cities including Peshawar, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Tank. Some of these individuals have reportedly set up illegal checkpoints along strategic routes, including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Official figures indicate that in the first eight months of 2025, over 600 terrorist attacks occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least 138 civilians and 79 security personnel. In August alone, 129 attacks were recorded.

Amid rising attacks, Pakistan has again accused Afghan Taliban of providing refuge to TTP members and failing to take action against them. Taliban caretaker government has rejected these claims, asserting that Afghanistan soil will not be used against neighboring countries.
