Ukraine Strikes Russian Border Infrastructure; Russia Retaliates in Kharkiv

DID Press: Ukrainian drones targeted energy infrastructure in Russia’s border regions on Tuesday night, prompting a heavy Russian strike on Kharkiv that left large parts of the city without power, reported Russian Media.

The attacks reportedly hit Lgov city in Kursk region, leaving it entirely without electricity. Power outages were also reported in Taganrog, Valuyki, and Krasnaya Yaruga. A factory and a television tower in Belgorod were also targeted. Officials said parts of five districts in Kursk lost power.

Russian air defense forces intercepted or destroyed 19 drones over Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov, Crimea, and the Black Sea between 19:00 and 23:00 local time.

In response, the Russian military launched a heavy strike on Kharkiv. Local sources reported 15 explosions within 30 minutes, cutting electricity to large areas of the city.

Analysts say the attacks highlight growing role of energy infrastructure in the ongoing Ukraine conflict, affecting both border areas in Russia and major cities in Ukraine.
